Pausing Regular Cleans for Holidays
Going away? Learn how to pause your recurring cleaning schedule.
If you have a recurring cleaning subscription (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), you can easily pause it when you're away on holiday, having work done at home, or simply don't need cleaning for a period. Pausing your subscription is straightforward and ensures you won't be charged for new bookings while you're away.
How to pause your subscription
Follow these steps to pause your recurring cleans:
- Log in to your Servella account
- Navigate to "Subscriptions" from your dashboard
- Find the subscription you want to pause
- Click the "Pause" button on the subscription card
- Optionally provide a reason for pausing (this helps us improve our service)
- Click "Pause Subscription" to confirm
What happens when you pause
When you pause your subscription, the following will occur:
- No new bookings will be automatically created for your subscription
- Your payment method will not be charged for any new bookings
- You can resume your subscription at any time with a single click
- Any bookings that were already scheduled before you paused will remain active and proceed as normal
Already scheduled bookings
It's important to note that pausing your subscription does not automatically cancel bookings that have already been scheduled. If you have upcoming cleans that you need to cancel, you should do so individually from the "My Bookings" section of your dashboard. This gives you full control over which appointments proceed and which don't.
How to resume your subscription
When you're ready to start receiving regular cleans again:
- Go to "Subscriptions" in your dashboard
- Find your paused subscription (it will show a "Paused" status)
- Click the "Resume" button
- Your subscription will become active immediately and new bookings will be scheduled according to your preferences
Skipping individual cleans
If you only need to miss one or two cleans rather than pausing for an extended period, you can use the "Skip Next" feature instead. This allows you to skip specific upcoming appointments without pausing your entire subscription. Simply click "Skip Next" on your subscription card and select which booking you'd like to skip. Your regular schedule will continue as normal after the skipped appointment.
When to pause vs skip
Here's a quick guide to help you decide:
- Use "Skip Next" if you're missing just one or two appointments
- Use "Pause" if you're going away for an extended period (e.g., a holiday)
- Use "Pause" if you're unsure when you'll need cleaning again
- Use "Pause" if you're having building work done and don't know when it will finish
No fees for pausing
There are no fees or penalties for pausing your subscription. You can pause and resume as many times as you need. We understand that life circumstances change, and we want to make it easy for you to manage your cleaning schedule around your needs.
