Requirements to Join
What you need to become a Servella cleaner.

- Driving licence (UK)
- Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
- National ID card (EEA countries)
- Right to Work share code (for settled/pre-settled status holders)

- Account holder name (must match your verified legal name)
- Sort code (6 digits)
- Account number (8 digits)
- You can scan your bank card using your phone's camera for convenience
- Your name will be verified against your identity documents for security
Desirable qualities
While not required, these qualities will strengthen your application and may lead to more job opportunities:

- Own transport for flexibility and access to more areas
- References from previous cleaning work or employers
- First aid certification
- Experience with deep cleaning and move-in/move-out cleans
Self-employment
All Servella cleaners work on a self-employed basis. This means you're your own boss and responsible for managing your own tax affairs. As a self-employed cleaner, you'll need to:
- Register as self-employed with HMRC
- Keep records of your earnings (the app tracks these for you)
- Submit an annual Self Assessment tax return
- Pay your own Income Tax and National Insurance contributions
- We recommend setting aside 20-25% of your earnings for tax
Equipment and supplies
In most cases, customers provide their own cleaning products and equipment. This is confirmed in each booking, so you'll know what to expect before you arrive. You'll need to provide your own transport to get to and from jobs.
Training requirements
Once you join Servella, you'll be assigned training courses through the app. Some training is mandatory and must be completed before you can accept certain types of jobs. Training covers:
- Servella quality standards and expectations
- Health and safety procedures
- Customer service best practices
- Specific service types (deep cleaning, specialist tasks)
- Using the cleaner app effectively
