Notification Preferences
Control how and when Servella contacts you.
We keep you informed about your bookings and account through email and push notifications. While essential notifications about your bookings are sent automatically to ensure you never miss an appointment, you can control whether you receive marketing communications from us.
Essential notifications
These notifications are sent automatically to keep you informed about your bookings and cannot be disabled:
- Booking received - confirmation that we've received your booking request
- Booking confirmed - when your booking is confirmed and a cleaner is assigned
- Booking reminders - sent 24 hours before your appointment via email and push notification
- Booking rescheduled - if your booking date or time is changed
- Booking cancelled - confirmation if your booking is cancelled, including any refund details
- Account security - password changes and security alerts
Marketing communications
You can choose whether to receive marketing emails from Servella. These include special offers, promotions, cleaning tips, and service updates. Marketing emails are separate from your essential booking notifications.
Managing marketing preferences
To update your marketing preferences:
- Go to your Profile page
- Select the "Personal Information" tab
- Find the "Marketing Preferences" checkbox
- Tick to receive marketing emails, or untick to opt out
- Click "Save Changes" to update your preferences
Email notifications
Emails are sent to the email address on your account. These include:
- Booking received - confirming we've received your booking with full details and pricing breakdown
- Booking confirmed - when your booking is confirmed, including cleaner details if assigned
- Appointment reminders - sent the day before your clean with all the details you need
- Booking rescheduled - if your booking date or time is changed, showing both old and new times
- Booking cancelled - if your booking is cancelled, including any refund information
Push notifications (mobile app)
If you use our mobile app, you can receive push notifications directly to your phone. Push notifications are used for time-sensitive updates:
- Booking reminders - sent 24 hours before your appointment ("Reminder: Cleaning Tomorrow")
- Urgent alerts - sent 1 hour before your cleaner arrives to ensure access is available
Enabling push notifications
To receive push notifications, you need to:
- Download the Servella app from the App Store or Google Play
- Log in to your account
- Allow notifications when prompted
- You can also enable/disable notifications in your phone's settings
Why can't I disable booking notifications?
Essential booking notifications ensure you're always informed about your upcoming appointments. Missing these notifications could result in missed cleans, access issues, or payment problems. We keep these notifications concise and only send them when necessary.
Not receiving notifications?
If you're not receiving expected notifications:
- Check your spam or junk folder for emails
- Verify your email address is correct in your profile
- For push notifications, check your phone's notification settings
- Ensure the Servella app has permission to send notifications
- Contact support if you're still having issues
Unsubscribing from marketing emails
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by updating your preferences in your profile as described above. Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect your essential booking notifications.
